クリスマスが近づくといろんな所でクリスマスソングが聞こえてきます。あなたのお好きな曲は何でしょうか？今回は初心者でも分かりやすい英語のクリスマスソングを３曲選んでみました。
１．Jingle Bells
子供からシニアまで誰でも聞いたことのあるこの曲。”jingle bells, jingle bells”だけは分かるよ、という方が多いですね。他の部分もリズムにのって歌うと覚えやすいのでトライしてみてください。
このビデオが一番練習向きだと思います。
ちょっと子供っぽいな、と言う方には次の曲。
2. Happy Christmas (War Is Over) – John Lennon
ジョン・レノンの曲です。戦争反対の意味も込めてこの曲をお薦めします。発音もはっきりしていて聞き取りやすいと思います。Youtubeにたくさんビデオがありますが、今回は歌詞付きを引用させていただきます。
３曲目は迷いましたが、シニアクラスでも皆さんご存知だったこの曲。
3. White Christmas
ゆっくりしたテンポなので聞きやすいし歌いやすいです。歌詞の中で韻を踏んでいる単語が分かりやすいですね。聴いているとほっこりしてきませんか？今回はビング・クロスビーさんバージョンで。

Do they know it’s Christmas? / Band Aid
個人的に大大大♡好きな曲です。１９８０年代の洋楽ファンなら涙を流しながら見てしまうこのビデオ。１９８４年、英国のミュージシャン、ボブ・ゲルドフとミッジ・ユーロがエチオピアの飢餓を救済するために作った曲です。彼らに賛同した英国、アイルランドのミュージシャン達が集まってレコーディングしました。そのレコード（当時はまだCDじゃないんです）が日本でも販売されるというニュースを私はラジオで知って興奮。すぐにレコード店で予約しました。もちろん、世界中で売れまくったそのレコード売上金はエチオピアへ寄付されました。
やっぱり８０年代最高！
チャリティーというのは後にいろいろ批判なども出てくるものですが…。素直に音楽は多くの人々の心を動かすということは事実として受け止めたいですね。
